This historic 1930s home is tucked away in the heart of New Smyrna Beach’s mainland. It has remained in the same family ever since and was nearly untouched for decades.

Recently, the granddaughter of the original owner took ownership of the home. She wanted not only to give it some much-needed attention but also to bring it up to date. Enter Innovative Improvements! When we first evaluated the property, we were struck by its nostalgic charm and mid-century character. We appreciated her vision to preserve the integrity of this little gem. From the original single-pane windows to the beautiful heart pine floors throughout, it was clear we were the right team to breathe new life into this home.

Although it had withstood the test of time, enduring over 90 years of Florida’s salt air, hurricanes, and generations of wear, it needed significant restoration. The Innovative team carefully repaired structural and foundation issues, removed the old siding, and installed new Hardie board. We also replaced the windows with ones that beautifully mimic the originals and smoothed every wall and ceiling. Finishing touches included new lighting, a crisp coat of fresh paint inside and out, and perfectly refinished heart pine floors throughout.

Lovingly reimagined, this charming beach home now honors its storied past while offering the comfort and style of contemporary living. The family is thrilled with the result and we’re incredibly proud of our work!
